It Could Be Old Age, or It Could Be Low B12

After a new study found that a deficiency in vitamin B-12 was associated with memory and thinking problems, as well as brain shrinkage; the New York Times reported that an 85-year old woman, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, was prescribed Aricept, which only made matters worse. She was also found to be deficient in vitamin B12 and her doctor thought it could be contributing to her symptoms.  He was right.
