The Magnin Auditorium at the Skirball Cultural Center came alive on Friday, June 24th with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UCLA’s 2011 Artist-in-Residence event, The Wrecking Crew. Rave reviews followed the presentation by music legend Steve Barri, whose Osher course series, The History of Rock ‘n Roll is already a stellar hit with members. Steve presented a special screening of The Wrecking Crew documentary and hosted an exclusive interview with Denny Tedesco, son of guitar player and crewmember, Tommy Tedesco. It was a memorable evening for those in attendance and many satisfied guests made comments such as: “Awesome! Amazing! Mindblowing! Perfect! Inspiring! Entertaining! Educational! I’d give it a 10+” and “Incredible, unique event. Very well done, fun, and more than met my expectations. Gave an incredible insight into the history of the music and recording business in the 60’s and 70’s. Fabulous evening and event. A true highlight experience for me. “ Another lifelong learning enthusiast commented, “I really learned tons from watching this film. I loved it and I really appreciate being able to participate in this program. Many thanks!” Our thanks to all—members, hosts, guests and staff—whose continued gracious support made The Wrecking Crew a premier OLLI at UCLA event.
