Lifelong Learning on a Global Scale

On December 15, 2010, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UCLA hosted a 16-member delegation from the Korean National University Lifelong Learning campuses. They came to learn about our Osher program at UCLA and to share their experiences about their program for older adults through the Korean National University system. The visit was arranged through the UCLA International Visitors Bureau, and Mr. Yong H. Hyon of Laguna Woods, California was the contact person and interpreter for the event. Professor and Director Yeung Kurn Park lead the discussion, which provided insight into the various modalities and components of the lifelong learning programs in Korea. Osher program attendees included Catherine Showalter, Director, Community Services Department; Cristine Bruzzone, Osher Program Director; and Valari Kirkbride, Osher Program Manager.
